The film is not so much a sequel as a continuation, following the grown-up sections of Stephen King's 1986 novel, which were interwoven with the story of how they confronted Pennywise the Dancing Clown as children. The evil clown will return once more in the movie, and Bill Skarsgård, who plays the main character, recently shared a few details about what the fans can expect to see this time around. It seems that Pennywise's influence has already spread as there are red balloons and weird happenings all over the small town. Playing their adult counterparts are James McAvoy (Bill Denbrough), Jessica Chastain (Beverly Marsh), Bill Hader (Richie Tozier), James Ransone (Eddie Kaspbrak), Isaiah Mustafa (Mike Hanlon), Jay Ryan (Ben Hanscom), and Andy Bean (Stanley Uris).
And that's exactly what director Andy Muschietti's 2017 adaptation of King's classic creepfest did.
The movie reunites the Losers Club as adults however, the young cast from the first film also feature. This first trailer largely focused on one terrifying sequence starring an adult Bev (Jessica Chastain), we're also shown glimpses of the rest of the adult Losers' club, as well as the terrifying villain himself. We know you're here for the scares - and that's okay because we are, too.
What makes this trailer so special is that it focuses nearly entirely on the scene where Beverly Marsh returns to her childhood home and meets an old lady.
In the parlor, as flies congregate at the window, the old woman freezes in place with a smile and wide eyes after she tells Beverly that not everything in Derry stays dead. She invites Beverly inside for tea and cookies.
It Chapter Two hits theaters on September 6, 2019.
