A "large majority" of PS4 games support PSN ID changes. Select "Account Management", "Account Information", "Profile", and then "Online ID". To be on the safe side, you may want to check this list of tested games before making any changes to your PSN online ID.
A full list of games tested to support PSN name changes as well as those that are now experiencing issues with this, is available on the PlayStation website. First, the price: although your first time is free, subsequent changes for non-PlayStation Plus subscribers will run $9.99 apiece, while PlayStation Plus members will pay $3.99. Changing to an ID effectively means you've bought it permanently, and are free to revert to it anytime you want. Starting with the new feature, offensive usernames will be automatically changed to a temporary ID which can be later changed by the user.
All games released after 1st April 2018 should support PSN ID changes, but there may still be some outliers.
In general, there are no restrictions to the number of times you can change your online ID. We've all had them, right?
They will launch the feature later today - and you will be able to make the adjustments on your PS4 OR on your web browser.so you don't even have to wait until you've finished work/school/college/uni/prison.
Most games should continue to work without any problems but due to the way your ID is linked to your account some games do have issues. Reverting back to an old name is possible and doesn't cost any money. Again though, Sony says that this shouldn't be the case with most games.
