Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal, Odisha and Sikkim will also be held simultaneously, the Election Commission (EC) said. But the polling in the Telugu states will be held in the first phase itself.
The Election Commission too said that polls are being conducted during Ramzan as a full month can not be excluded, news agency ANI reported.

The term of the current Lok Sabha ends on June 3. The counting of votes for all 543 parliamentary constitutencies will be on May 23, the commission announced.
Announcing the schedule for 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission said the voter verifiable paper audit trail' (VVPAT) will be used in all polling stations this time.
