The Hallmark channel's parent company Crown Media has announced that it is showing former Full House star Lori Loughlin the door around the same time Sephora publicly cut ties with Loughlin's daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli.
Following the public shit-storm that has ensued as a result of the college admissions scandal, famous folk including Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman and YouTuber Olivia Jade Giannulli have been forced to disable comments on their Instagram while the latter's mother Lori Loughlin has deleted all her socials entirely. That two well-respected actors, who have been in the spotlight for decades and had squeaky-clean images, along with Loughlin's husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, are facing felony charges for allegedly running scams to get their kids into college.
Loughlin has not yet entered a plea in the case, and her attorney declined comment Wednesday after her first appearance in a Los Angeles federal court. Olivia Jade also has a partnership with Tresemme, and promotes their products on her accounts from time to time.
She apologized later but that didn't seem to lessen the sting that she went on social media and had the absolute nerve to tell people that she just wanted to go to USC to party and didn't care at all about her schooling.
The 19-year-old, who started college at the University of Southern California last September, isn't exactly your typical freshman student.
They were arrested and released earlier this week after posting a $1 million secured bond.
Giannulli said in one of her vlogs, "I don't know how much of school I'm going to attend, but I'm gonna go in and talk to my deans and everyone, and hope that I can try and balance it all".
In order to get her accepted to USC, Olivia and her sister were designated as recruits to the USC crew team despite neither of them having had participated in the sport. Both Huffman and Loughlin allegedly had their phone calls recorded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which helped to indict them.
USC said they were investigating her enrollment at the school, as well as other students who might have been involved in the bribery scam.
Giannulli has also been sponsored by a number of other companies, including TRESemmé, Princess Polly, Smile Direct Club, Amazon Prime Student, Clinique, Lulus, Windsor, Dolce & Gabbana Beauty, Conair, Boohoo and Smashbox Cosmetics.
To make matters worse, freshman Olivia Jade had been on board the Invictus, a luxury super yacht owned by Rick Caruso, the chairman of the board of trustees of USC. Huffman is reportedly police custody, according to a report by New York Daily News.
