The developers have been very open about changes being on the horizon based upon player feedback and if they keep that transparency up, Apex Legends really could be a game with some serious staying power to rival that of Fortnite. The only hint is that it involves a host NPC (non-player character), and possibly spectator NPCs, who could cheer players on, or sling emotes at them, giving the atmosphere more of a gladiatorial game show feel, presumably.
Respawn hasn't said exactly when the new weapon will be added to Apex Legends, only that it'll be available tomorrow (February 20).
