"Although I wanted to be aggressive more, my camp told me don't be careless and to counter him and wait for opportunities".

However, Pacquiao (60 wins, 39 coming by way of knockout and seven losses) made a triumphant return in Kuala Lumpur last July, scoring his first knockout victory in six years over Lucas Matthysse.

"You keep asking me about Manny Pacquiao, " Mayweather said during the fight. "The Manny Pacquiao journey still continues". He certainly said as much in the ring afterwards. Broner, who is also a multi-titled champ like the Filipino icon is looking to pad his resume with the biggest win of his career if he beats Pacquiao in their 12 round title duel.

Pacquiao almost knocked his opponent down again in the ninth when he delivered a clean left hook to Broner's chin that knocked him back.

"Tell him to come back to the ring, and we will fight", Pacquiao said. I am willing to fight again if he is willing to come back in boxing'.

When asked directly about a rematch, Pacquiao placed the ball squarely on Mayweather's court.

Pacquiao was the aggressor from the opening bell, and he had to be because Broner threw only occasional punches in the opening rounds. He darted in and out on Broner and landed multiple crisp shots while Broner could barely land anything.

CompuBox credited Pacquiao for landing 62 more overall punches than Broner (112-of-568 to 50-of-295).

Broner landed no more than eight punches in any round, and just one in the final round.

"I beat him, everybody out there knows I beat him, " Broner said. I controlled the fight.

Pacquiao, with the MGM crowd firmly behind him, came flying out of the traps behind his jab and straight right and even if over-eagerness saw his biggest shots miss, the eight-weight victor took the first three rounds in a familiar style.

About the only person in attendance who disagreed with the outcome was Broner (33-4-1), who protested the result emphatically in his post fight interview.

Broner yet again proved to be far more talk than action, as he spent much of the fight circling and didn't seem all that interested in engaging.
