The film netted Rs 8.75 Cr in India on Day 1.
Made on a hefty budget, Manikarnika depicts the story of Rani Lakshmi Bai aka Queen Of Jhansi, the Indian rebellion against the British invaders. In its opening weekend, the film grossed Rs 42.55 crore.
It also said that the collections were pretty boring outside Mumbai circuit with collections getting worse further North.
The film garnered Rs 18.10 crore on Saturday, Republic Day.
Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is on an fantastic run at the box office. Praising Kangana Ranaut's power-packed performance in the film which hit the theatres on January 25, Adarsh thinks that the film is inspiring which has soul and scale. Now Manikarnika stands at a grand total of Rs 26.85 crore.
Manikarnika has released in around 50 countries and it has got 3000 screens whether in the overseas market it got 700 screens. Though Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike had the makers releasing fake versions of the film in pirate forums, a copy of the film found its way to Tamilrockers.
The biopic on the late Marathi leader has been written by journalist and MP Sanjay Raut and directed by Abhijit Panse. Helmed by Radha Krishna, the epic biographical period drama based on Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi is bankrolled by Zee Studios, Kamal Jain and Nishant Pitti. Apart from Kangana, Manikarnika also stars Atul Kulkarni, Jisshu Sengupta, Suresh Oberoi, Ankita Lokhande, Danny Denzongpa among others.
