Nearly entire Bollywood is in the city for the ceremony.
Isha Ambani - the only daughter of India's richest man, Mukesh Ambani - and Anand Piramal's pre-wedding celebrations are taking place in Udaipur (with a rumoured performance by U.S. singer Beyoncé on Sunday), while the actual wedding ceremony is slated for December 12 in Mumbai, at the family's luxurious 27-story, 570-foot-tall, 400,000-square-foot home, Antilia.
Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's pre-wedding celebrations that kicked off today will see all the big names from Bollywood in attendance.
Their three-day engagement bash at Lake Como in September was probably the most expensive betrothal of the decade and the wedding celebrations are in all probability going to be very large, considering Isha is the daughter of India's richest family. The wedding will take place on December 12 in Udaipur where many dignitaries, businessmen, people from the entertainment, political fraternity are expected to attend the event.
It has been an unending wedding season in the Indian film and business fraternity.
Bollywood stars, including Priyanka Chopra, who got married last week, will also attend. The invite design was the ideal marriage of personal and formal and featured a chant, and the Om symbol around a monogram consisting of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's initials, "IA".
The families announced in a statement, "We are delighted to share that the marriage of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal will take place in the residence of Shri Mukesh Ambani and Smt".
A press release by from the Ambani family said that as part of the "Anna Seva", 5100 persons were served food.
Social media photos of the venues - the Oberoi Udai Vilas and City Palace, showed that they were decked up for grand celebration.
Worldwide singer Beyonce Knowles will reportedly add her star power to a gala evening as part of the celebrations. Over 100-chartered flights have been flying in and out of the otherwise sleepy Udaipur airport.
