According to the Englewood Police Department, at approximately 1:17 a.m., officers responded to an address on the 3200 block of South Lincoln Street regarding "a male standing outside a residence". A woman was holding her child on the couch inside the home when the man entered uninvited.
Torrez said, "I tell you that much she was really really scared... she was with my son on the couch". Kelly did not have any alcohol in his system, police said. All options - including release - on the table for Kelly.
The organization released the following statement: "We are disappointed that Chad Kelly was arrested early this morning". He subbed in for Case Keenum amid "Kelly" chants to kneel out the time remaining in the first half. He later played at Ole Miss. "We are in the process of getting all the facts and talking to Chad, and then we'll figure out exactly which direction we're going to go".
Kelly, who was the last player picked in the 2016 draft, hasn't attempted a pass in the regular season. Although Kelly brought an attitude that had often crossed the line in college, Elway said fellow Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly personally vouched for his nephew, so Elway signed off on the selection. Police eventually located Kelly, who was identified by a witness, sitting in a black SUV near a local theater, where teammate Von Miller was hosting a Halloween party.
According to a police report, Kelly allegedly said, "I'm going to go to my vehicle and get my AK-47 and spray this place".
"We're obviously very, very disappointed in Chad and the situation that he put himself into", Elway said on Orange and Blue 760 Radio according to DenverBroncos.com. During the team's bye week, he'd attended the game of his younger brother, and ran out of the stands and onto the field when a late hit on his brother, the team's quarterback, led to a scuffle between both sides.
