Former first daughter Barbara Bush married a 37-year-old screenwriter this weekend. Only 20 members of Barbara's family witnessed her simple yet romantic ceremony, according to PEOPLE, but the guest list contained some major political icons.
Laura carried a bouquet and of white blooms with tons of greenery and wore her hair down in flawless soft waves.
Dorothy Bush Koch, the bride's aunt, officiated the wedding.
Without commenting on how she felt in that moment (and as an NBC News employee, not revealing who she voted for, unlike her sister), Jenna told The New York Times nearly a year later, in October 2017, "This moment, as a mother, feels a little frightening, because I'm nervous to have the TV on to hear some of the rhetoric that is coming from the highest position".
Former first daughter Barbara Bush is a married woman. She shares a name with her grandmother, former First Lady Barbara Bush. "Laura and I are so proud of our compassionate, daring, fierce, kind, intelligent, loving daughter. And we've been long-distance for most of it - he's been in LA and I've been in NY - but we've gotten to spend a lot of time together", the bride said, according to People.
The photo showed the back of Barbara's wedding gown, a custom ivory silk crepe Vera Wang gown that she accessorized with a bracelet that her grandfather had given her grandmother on their 70th anniversary.
Her grandfather, George H.W. Bush, was in attendance, looking as adorable and handsome as ever.
Coyne proposed in the same spot Barbara's grandparents became engaged 75 years ago. A pair of earrings from her sister Jenna.
"It's just been a very sweet romance", she said.
According to the Internet Movie Database, Coyne has also dabbled in acting, appearing in a number of small films going back to 2005. "And we've been long-distance for most of it - he's been in LA and I've been in NY - but we've gotten to spend a lot of time together".
