Hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che opened with Roseanne Barr jokes and references to the #MeToo movement, and of course, Chrissy Teigen-who appeared to cringe and slink away in her chair, captured perfectly what most people felt.
Chrissy revealed the earth-shattering news today, telling fans that "Teigen" isn't actually pronounced "Tee-gen".
The mom of two even shared a video of herself pronouncing the name correctly for anyone in need of a tutorial.
"I'm exhausted of living this lie". This seems like an obvious point, but it turns out we've been mispronouncing the author and singer's last names for years. I, too, have been unknowingly butchering the pronunciation of Teigen for years. "It's Tie-gen", she admitted in the video, where her mother could be heard in the background saying, "Yup!" When asked if she planned on taking Pete Davidson's last name, Grande responded by stating that she should probably keep the last name her family gave her.
Chrissy Teigen isn't the only star whose name is constantly mispronounced. They can call me Janet and I won't. My brother kind of changed it to [Grawnday] because [Grandee] was kind of like the Americanized version of it.
