The ravaged Carolina coast strikes the heart of Minnesota, as the American Red Cross in Minneapolis coordinates the deployment of 50 volunteers already working in the storm devastated region out east.
All branches of the Cajun Navy have come together to collect supplies for Hurricane Florence relief.
Though the hurricane had weakened to a tropical storm by Friday evening, the storm is far from over. A Red Cross spokeswoman says the local Huntsville chapter was contacted to send the volunteers.

The group will be in North Carolina for two weeks. According to the Red Cross, more than 1,100 roads still remain closed because of Florence. "We have stores in these affected areas, so we know many Kroger customers and associates have been personally affected".
The Red Cross depends on financial donations to be able to provide disaster relief immediately. In fact, this is the 33rd national disaster she's responded to since becoming a volunteer in 2003.
