The name iPhone XS would make sense, given Apple's convention for naming past phones: Every other year, the iPhone gets an "S" model that looks the same as its predecessor but features lots of internal improvements and refinements.
The smart connector is now on the shorter side of the tablet, above the charging port, suggesting Apple wishes you to use the device in portrait mode when connected to a keyboard.
Apple has achieved this by removing the Home button from the tablet and switching to Face ID. Within the top bezel is the Face ID-enabling TrueDepth camera setup; the bezels are still thick enough so no notch is required.
What we see the images below are an iPad with thinner bezels, a single camera on the rear with "bump", and antenna lines along the rear edges, reminiscent of when we first saw them on Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
12, the world is expecting Apple to announce a new set of iPhones, and a new Apple Watch too boot. Some sources argue that a 12.9 inch will also appear but it remains to be seen if it fact or fiction.
"Apple's coming iPhone lineup is likely to maximize the available screen real estate within form factors that will still fit in trousers pockets, which suggests we have reached a limit of screen size as an incremental driver of demand".
This is just a prediction, though Kuo is generally recognized as one of the best Apple analysts, including a stretch in 2014 when he accurately anticipated nearly the entire slate of products that year. For the Xs and Xs Max, a 512GB version might be offered as well, for a yet unknown price. Bloomberg reported there will be three iPhone models this year, two with more expensive OLED display technology, and one with a 6.1-inch LCD display.
