She says, "It was then I realised what an idiot I was".
The singer had a concert in the Philadelphia area last Friday, but he first stopped by a Wawa in Medford, New Jersey.
A retired school teacher called Ruth Reed thought she was doing a stranger a favour when she picked up the tab for a shaggy-haired guy who was a few dollars short on his purchase.
A story is making the rounds on the internet that woman living in New Jersey loaned a man cash to buy a coffee, but didn't know exactly who he was. "Being at the right place at the right time and too stupid to recognize Keith Urban when you see him".
Reed admits she took some convincing. "I said Ruth, he said "Ruth I'm Keith" and I said "That's who you look like Keith Urban do people every tell you that you look like Keith Urban?' And he said 'I am Keith Urban, ' and I said no you're not really". Really? Then where's Nicole? Do people every tell you that you look like Keith Urban?'
Reed said that's when she noticed his body guards and realized she really had paid for Keith Urban. Reed says she got snippy with the star. Is there a #MeToo moment happening in country music?
"And he really could have said, 'Lady, get away from me!'" she said.
Reed says Urban stuck 5 dollars in the donation box at the register and happily took this picture with her. Still, she managed to snap a photo with Urban.
